ABSTRACT

This chapter details the return to work after brain injury. Through his character-building experience, with its many ups and downs, the author learnt to view life from a different perspective. Although he yearned to return to the office and had prepared all external elements so methodically, he also dreaded it and ironically preparation only served to exacerbate the worry. As the first day of the rest of his life approached, he began to have misgivings about his return as the corporate world is famously unforgiving and harsh. Prior to his reappearance at the office, a significant amount of preparation had been done. His recovery had been mapped out with particularly judicious planning and he was extremely fortunate that his work was willing to go far beyond what was strictly necessary for an injured employee.
