ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces a nonadditive hybrid approach to enhance decision making on the ranking, selection, and improvement of suppliers in the context of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) research. Decision making are categorized into three groups: multiple attribute decision making (MADM), mathematical programming models and combined or integrated hybrid approaches. The chapter also introduces a nonadditive-type technique and synthesizes the final performance gap of alternatives for the hybrid model. It aims to illustrate the idea of how to use nonadditive aggregator in a hybrid MADM model. Hybrid MADM model attempts to improve the performance of suppliers, gap values should be used instead of performance scores. The emphasis in MADM applications has shifted from ranking/selection to improving the performance of existing alternatives. Influential network relations map identifies how and in which directions the criteria influence each other, which helps managers to understand the root causes of performance issues and to devise strategies for improvement.
