ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on developing students’ ability to communicate equations, numerical data, and graphs. Students learn how to share numerical data and units in French and to use this information to describe objects. Students develop their ability to understand spoken discourse that includes equations and numerical data. Students learn how to present a graph orally and how to describe trends in graphs. They learn techniques for simplifying numerical data to communicate it better to a non-specialized public. They learn how to calculate the cost of a project. They apply their technical knowledge to the calculation of the cost of an engineering project and then they present their findings orally.
