ABSTRACT
Bonnie and Clyde sing to their parents about how they want a better life. Throughout history, parents have wanted better lives for their children. Worldwide, this has generally happened due to economic growth and innovation. Between increased agricultural productivity, the benefits of the assembly line, and computers, incomes have increased dramatically. Figure 3 shows the average incomes in the United States (all incomes are adjusted for inflation and presented in 2017 U.S. dollars). 1
