ABSTRACT
If you only hear the name or see the posters, you might think The Full Monty is a lewd musical. I found it nothing of the sort. It is uplifting and shows the power of the entrepreneurial spirit. Just as wonderful – it has many economic themes woven throughout. The men featured in the show have lost their jobs at the factory and are unemployed. They are depressed and desperate, and their unemployment is causing financial stress that is affecting their lives and the lives of their families.
