ABSTRACT

If a child is deemed to be ‘at risk’, it is important to build in some play

interventions early on, before the behaviour, and the adult coping with it,

reach crisis point. In this way we can do much more preventative work, and

find new ways of communicating and playing in order to transform the

challenging behaviour. Unfortunately, we are often asked to deal with a crisis

intervention, which is usually not in the best interests of anyone concerned.
