ABSTRACT

Successful film producers share great stories with the masses by running great businesses. People know about their movies because they choose engaging stories, raise the needed money, hire the best talent, and market and sell their work effectively. For commercial businesses, executional excellence means figuring out how everyone's job and daily duties connect to serving your organization's customers or clients. For not-for-profits, it means understanding how what a person does each day adds value to the cause of the organization and any fundraising efforts. A culture that embraces a one-team mentality ensures everyone is pulling in the same direction for a common purpose. Such organizations naturally break down silos and stay nimble as change is required. Company values support an organization's ability to fulfill its purpose if they are lived by the organization. Many corporate environments are guilty of telling stories that appeal exclusively to people's heads, engaging their commercial sensibilities or their cognitive, logical side.
