ABSTRACT
This chapter provides with the opportunity to reflect on the priorities, enabling to set yourself achievable and manageable goals. It describes to consolidate the learning and determine what one want out of an academic career, so that it is fulfilling and satisfying for someone. The chapter discussses 'future-proof' the career by establishing the own aims and what one want out of the journey ahead, rather than his/her being solely reliant on the winds of change to direct the career. A career is not mapped out so easily and some of the above tasks may be more straightforward than others. However, having a sense of progression and career development will help his/her to feel in control of the academic journey and the tasks his/her want to undertake to help his/her on their way.
