0 Card, colouring pencils, Special Calendar (Activity Sheet 7, Resources, pp243-5) Help the child to make a stick-on birthday picture (cake and candles, balloons). When it is somebody's birthday, find the birthday picture and stick it on the Special Calendar. ('Today it is Harry's birthday. He is 5-count my fingers, one, two, three, four, five.')

~ Paper. pens. Special Calendar (Activity Sheet 7, Resources. pp243-5) The day before the child's own birthday, help him make an extra-special stick-on picture with the appropriate number of candles on the cake. Show him how to put it on the Special Calendar for the next day. Talk about it being his birthday tomorrow and how old he is going to be.
