ABSTRACT

All meditation invites people to go beyond or beneath their intellect. Through reflection and being aware of the thoughts and feelings in relation to the information, people can ‘own’ the material much better by connecting it with different layers of their psyche. By then also meditating on the material and on the way they relate to the material they can open up to a deep inner source of inspiration and wisdom, and they can learn to connect to that source more consistently and consciously. Being in the present moment means that rather than trying to make things ‘different’, people try to cultivate an attitude of compassion and acceptance. This is easier said than done. Both past and future are mind products. The past is a memory of a former Now stored in the mind and remembering it means activating that memory trace. The future is a mind product as well, an imagined or projected Now.
