ABSTRACT

Walls around your heart can end up like a prison rather than just a mode of self-protection. Walls around your heart may keep out the harsh and the hurtful, but they can also stop good things such as warmth, love and kindness coming in. If you harden your heart, you may not experience much pain any more, but you may not experience much life either. Walls around your heart protect, but they also obstruct the view and keep out the light. Hardening your heart as a defence can be too effective in keeping people out.
