ABSTRACT

This development will support the participant who believes that saying one of these things would in reality improve one of their relationships and yet they feel too frightened. Ask them to draw what they fear would happen if they said it. Then ask them what sort of support they would need to be able to find their voice. For example, one little boy who did this exercise found his voice to be able to say to his mummy who smacked him, ‘Please use words, not hands.’ But he needed his counsellor to be in the room when he said it.
