ABSTRACT

Here’s the thing about generations: the statistics don’t represent every single person, and there are always exceptions to the rule. Also, generations evolve in tandem with changes occurring in society. For example, I did not grow up with the Internet and did not have a cell phone until I was in college; however, that doesn’t mean my expectations are much different from those of a young person who grew up with the Internet and a smartphone. I have become accustomed to the conveniences we enjoy today, and my expectations are in line with modern life. However, the technological landscape matters a lot, and it has a big impact on a generation’s expectations, overall.
