ABSTRACT

This chapter identifies symptoms of depression and understand how clients affect their life. It describes generate clients' own personal profile of depression. The chapter establishes boundaries to clients' depression, which will enable them to establish ownership and eventually control of their symptoms. Ask clients how they feel about the therapy, especially the style of therapy. The most obvious and typical sign of depression is a depressed mood: gloomy, low, sad and apathetic. Causes of depression are usually divided into three groups: biological, sociological and psychological. The causes of clients' depression may belong to one or all of these groups.
