ABSTRACT

The financial and trade front, like all other fronts, has gone through acute struggles between the two classes, the two roads, and the two lines, and it has achieved a very great success under the guidance of the latest directives from Chairman Mao. Corruption, theft, speculation, and swindling are definitely not just "economic problems," but important political problems related to the consolidation of the economic base of proletarian dictatorship. The financial and trade front is the link between production and consumption, between the city and the countryside, and between industry and agriculture. The small handful of people who have committed acts of corruption, theft, speculation, and swindling are the enemy of the people. The small handful of corrupt elements, speculators, and reactionary capitalists have been badly hurt by the storm of the Proletarian Cultural Revolution, but they have not yet been completely liquidated.
