ABSTRACT

The type of presentation a person provides as well as what information to share will depend on who they are briefing and the purpose of the briefing. Higher-ranking superiors are often more interested in learning the results. Strive to demonstrate that you are a professional and can communicate information effectively. Physical appearance and bearing during presentations can also make a difference. It is been said that 50–90 percent of communication is nonverbal. Visual aids are also a form of nonverbal communication. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. If a person believes his/her case is worthy of acceptance for prosecution consideration and/or by a law enforcement agency for further investigation, during verbal presentation he/she should provide them with a copy of a summary investigative report which contains much of the information/documents obtained to date. Days before a person is scheduled to testify in court, the prosecuting attorney will probably discuss with him/her what questions he/she will be asked.
