Make Words Count: Developing a Word Enriched Environment

Introduction A rich word-learning environment is a powerful component of any vocabulary intervention. Such an environment will expose children to a diverse, but accessible, range of vocabulary and facilitate their natural word learning (Chiat, 2000). A carefully structured word-learning environment has the power to motivate word learners as well as provide a multitude of natural word-learning opportunities.
