ABSTRACT

Introduction to Session 8 Behaviour choices While sometimes it may feel as though we have no choices, especially as young people, and sometimes the choices facing us are not easy ones, all behaviours are indeed choices. Even very young children can be taught to make choices; for example, two-and three-year olds often make very determined choices about what they want to wear that day! Young children consistently make choices about what they want to play with, who they want to be friends with and what food they want to eat. Teaching children that they can choose to behave in certain ways is simply making the idea that we can make choices more conscious and concrete.
