ABSTRACT

Researching the maltreatment of children There is a lot of research and evidence about how children are at risk of harm or abuse. This research indicates that abuse and neglect are both under-reported and under-recorded:

In 2009, the NSPCC did a major piece of research to give us a more up-to-date picture of child maltreatment. The NSPCC interviewed young people aged 11-24 years. The full research findings were published in Child Abuse and Neglect in the UK Today (Radford et al., 2011) and below some key findings from the summary report are listed.
