or three sessions that the children
calm down, trust what is going on
and begin to engage purposefully.
It is well worth spending time to explain to
childrenʼs parents and teachers what the
aims are, what you hope to achieve and
why you think it will be particularly
valuable for the children who have been
selected. Try to keep in touch and offer
feedback about progress – steps forward
and steps still to take. This is most
effective when parents and teachers are
looking out for positive changes and
noticing what happens. You may need to
take time to explain the aims and
objectives again once the sessions have
got going and there is more to talk about.
