ABSTRACT
The Good Friday Agreement was reached in Northern Ireland. A tentative agreement on the future of the peace process was worked out by Northern Ireland politicians after last-minute interventions by Tony Blair and Bill Clinton. The agreement made provisions for a Northern Ireland assembly with opposing factions sitting together to govern the province. Many fingers were crossed, hoping this would work out. David Trimble and John Hume were later awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their role in the process.
