ABSTRACT

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is used on all aspects of anger in self-help, in groups or with a practitioner. Tapping provides valuable 'in the moment' assistance to reduce the negative effects of anger quickly. Underlying patterns of thinking and limiting beliefs around the expression of anger are also gently challenged using specific EFT procedures. Anger is a powerful emotional state. It is a physical and mental response to a threat or to harm. Healthy expression of anger involves facing what makes individual angry and setting boundaries for themself by determining what individual will do in response to what makes individual angry. An EFT session offers opportunities to gain insight into the boundaries. Patterns of unhealthy expression of anger have a very negative impact on our emotional and physical health. A good way to employ EFT to reduce the hold of a negative belief or thought is to check out what evidence exists to support it, using tapping.
