ABSTRACT

Stress is part of our daily existence; it is a response to our mental, emotional or physical demand, whether actual or imagined. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) provides both rapid relief and long-term benefits for all stress-related issues including positive results for issues concerning trauma and abuse. Using EFT to provide relief for stress, trauma and abuse can be challenging, but the results are very often favourable. EFT addresses the mind and the body at the same time. Facing continual sources of stress, specific hormones kill hippocampus neurons in certain areas of the brain, resulting in a loss of memory and a decrease in attention and concentration. A marked deterioration in cognitive ability, including in terms of retention of new information and adapting to new situations, are common experiences of people with chronic stress. The impact of trauma on an individual person is dependent on risk and resilience factors for that person.
