ABSTRACT

Organizational and program leaders must demonstrate alignment and commitment to the vision, purpose, goals, and desired outcomes of the initiative. At the heart of leadership alignment is making sure that the executive leaders are united behind the vision and mission of the organization. The most critical part is the leaders round with their staff and constituents to explain why they are doing what they do and the logic behind the strategy. In order to keep organizations on top, leadership alignment is critical. This includes linking the vision to the mission, the gap requirements, the strategies, the initiatives, and ultimately the outcomes. A key strategy in accomplishing this is to create an elevated Performance Improvement (PI) model that utilizes a triad of the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and PI leader to create an engine that produces a strong linkage at the top.
