ABSTRACT

Kalecki’s model of the growth of a socialist economy, which was pre sented in outline at the second congress of Polish economists in 1956, played a key part in theoretical discussions in Poland, in research on the funda mental processes in a socialist economy, and in constructing the first variants of the long-term plan for the People’s Republic of Poland up to 1975. The model has been improved and amplified several times, culminating in the systematic account given in Zarys teorii vzrostu gospodarki socjalistycznej, published in Warsaw in 1963 (and in 1965 in Czech translation in Prague).
