ABSTRACT

This chapter examines trends in the redistribution of youth among various branches of the national economy. The branches of the national economy can be divided into two groups: branches from which youth move into other sectors of the economy as a function of their job seniority, and branches that receive new reinforcements through the sectoral redistribution of youth. A system of indices was constructed in order to determine the features of interbranch migration of males and females. The chapter examines the basic directions of change in the occupational profiles of young working personnel. The change of socio-occupational group is closely associated with a large number of social and economic factors. A number of specific features distinguish the occupational migration of youth from turnover among seasoned workers and employees in the national economy. The distribution of youth in the national economy immediately after graduation from general education school represents a situation that is temporary for many.
