ABSTRACT

This chapter analyses the question of the basic construction of prices under socialism, and then the method of forming them and the main forms of development in various areas of exchange. It deals with the construction of "inter-enterprise" prices which are called in practice wholesale prices. Trade prices are the basic construction for retail prices of consumer goods sold by socialist trade organizations to the public. The chapter also analyses the problems of basic construction of wholesale prices to a treatment of the specific formation and movement of wholesale prices in the system of economic management of a socialist economy. Specific wholesale prices paid for products by socialist production enterprises or by other economic units in production will deviate more or less from production prices conceived as the basic construction of prices. The market price moves under the influence of certain relationships of use value around the prevailing trade price as a special form of the value of consumer goods.
