ABSTRACT

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the world's largest anti-fraud organization and a key provider of anti-fraud training and education. Its activities focus on reducing business fraud and inspiring public confidence in their institutions. To become a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), applicants must be members of the ACFE, meet minimum academic and professional requirements, be of high moral character, and abide by the bylaws and Code of Professional Ethics of the ACFE. One of the most troublesome problems facing economies around the world is the blight of fraud and corruption. The ACFE is one of the most authoritative organization providing thought leadership, training, and certification for professionals dedicated to combating this problem. The ACFE provides fraud-related information that all internal auditors should be familiarized with. This information can be applied during the creation of anti-fraud programs, during internal audit projects, and during fraud investigations.
