ABSTRACT

This chapter presents lessons learned from intelligent disobedience that failed because those characteristics were out of alignment. To support his relationships, he purposefully carves out time to review his interactions with his former, current, and potential clients, as well as contacts inside his company. The intelligently disobedient solution was obvious to her she still trusted her own technical capabilities, so she would become a ghost architect until she could resolve her technical resource issue. It is important to do the people homework, to review the reader intent with people who may be affected by the people actions, and to understand the limits of intelligent disobedience for the reader organization and the people manager before the people proceed. Although her tactic had not caused a problem prior to the incident, the lack of communication irked her new manager.
