ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on stories that represent different views on duties and ethics, assessing risk before acting, and motivators to achieve desired outcomes and expands the people perspective on the possibilities for utilizing intelligent disobedience. From the more holistic in service to a higher purpose to a very emotional fear of failure in the longer term people view risk quite differently. Preparedness and definitions of the situations under which the procurement authority would be distributed was questioned, as well as the procurement concept's relationships with other struggling initiatives. Understanding the environments in which they work and evaluating the needs and strengths of people around them are other characteristics shared by the people highlighted in the stories. The ability to listen, to understand others, and to act with confidence is keenly refined, which ensures that their acts of intelligent disobedience are successful.
