ABSTRACT
This chapter examines truth within the context of intelligent disobedience. It also describes tactics that to can employ to search for truth. The chapter discusses whether lying is a valid approach when engaging in intelligent disobedience. It provides approaches for collecting truth and sharing it with challenging leaders. To make the best decisions regarding intelligent disobedience, it's important to recognize that a broad range of perspectives may be present. Collecting truths will make that intelligent disobedience more successful and increase that support from management, peers, and the team members to lead. Sharing the truth and inviting others to do the same helps leaders to make informed decisions. In addition, greater quantities of truth from different individuals can set the stage for successful acts of intelligent disobedience. Bending or breaking rules is commonplace within intelligent disobedience, but lying is to be avoided.
