ABSTRACT

Heinrich worked for Travelers Insurance Company about a century ago. His contributions include “Heinrich’s Law,” which says that for every 300 near misses or minor incidents, there will be one major injury (like a fatality or permanently life-altering event). He also declared that most workplace injuries are due to worker behaviors (Heinrich, 1931). I will discuss some more of Heinrich’s concepts in detail throughout the book.
