If you think safety is number one, I’ve got a bridge to sell ya

Unless you work at a nonprofit that focuses solely on making the world a safer place (i.e., ASSE, The National Safety Council, NFPA, etc.) safety is NOT, nor should it be, number one at your organization. For most safety professionals (myself included), profit is and should be number one. For others, providing service to our nation, community, schools, or other groups is and should be number one.
