ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the relationship between QLab and Open Sound Control (OSC) and some of the ways in which OSC can be used. Like many of the other cue types examined earlier in the text, OSC Cues settings are found by clicking on the Workspace Settings icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen. The Network settings tab controls the output patch for Network Cues in workspace. The Settings tab for Network Cues is the main method for editing cue information. There are thousands of commands within QLab's OSC dictionary that can enable a wide range of programming options. QLab 4 has done the heavy lifting for you in creating control architecture of pre-programmed OSC commands for communicating with other computers running QLab. The software functions as a sort of bridge between the different applications that translates one signal type into another.
