ABSTRACT
China's war of liberation has basically achieved victory throughout the country. The entire Central-South area, with the exception of Hainan Island, has been liberated. Aside from the military task of successfully completing the liberation of Hainan Island, our army should gradually relieve all the troops of their combat duties in order for them to go into training and production. On raising the cultural level of the troops, the report of Political Commissar T'an Cheng clearly points out: "In the army's military-political and cultural training, cultural training is presently the most important. Cultural education should form the main content of army training for the next several years". Education in patriotism is the ideological education for the demands of the new nation's construction and for the people to actively participate in national construction with exemplary conduct. Patriotic education bears the sacred responsibility of eternally protecting the nation's territories.
