ABSTRACT
The Chinese People's Liberation Army is a workers and peasants' army founded under the leadership of the Communist Party and Comrade Mao Tse-tung. It is an army that has become extremely proletarian, extremely militant. Mao Tse-tung thought is a combination of the universal truth of Marxism-Leninism and the concrete practice of the Chinese revolution. It serves as the guideline for the Chinese people's revolution and for socialist construction. The basic task in PLA political work is to arm the minds of all the officers and soldiers with Mao Tse-tung thought, and to resolutely do all work in accordance with Mao Tse-tung thought. The Liberation Army, under the leadership of the Party and Comrade Mao Tse-tung, and in the course of long and bitter struggle, has cultivated an excellent work style. Comrade Mao Tse-tung summed up this kind of work style in three phrases and eight characters. Therefore it is known in its abbreviated form, the "three-eight work style".
