ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides detailed descriptions and analysis of how and why the different producer groups distributed their videos on the Internet, focusing on the dynamics surrounding the often complex and problematic assemblages of humans and machines they constructed for this purpose. It shows that the groups' specific reasons and methods reflected their particular objectives and circumstances, which sometimes varied considerably not only between the groups but also between individuals within a group. The book explores at length here, with a focus on how the power relations that existed within their assemblages, and the work they had to perform in distributing their videos, limited their agency. It precedes that the internet empowered the producers to achieve their objectives to varying degrees. The book requires a detailed examination of the relationships that existed between their components and of how these relationships changed over time.
