ABSTRACT

Each worker in the business proactively wants to implement Kaizen in their workplace by themselves. Kaizen consists of two Japanese letters, kanji. Kaizen means to change for the better to get closer to the right state. There is far more meaning behind the kanji than we are able to articulate outside of the Japanese language itself; however, some of that meaning is that we are supposed to strive to bring things to a more "right state" of being. Organizations put a lot of significance on quality, cost, delivery deadline, and safety (QCDS). The main goal is to manufacture products safely, with a high level of quality, and provide customers with these products at lower prices while meeting the promised delivery dates. In contrast, the Japanese industry was keeping up with the productivity of the United States by using a completely different approach.
