ABSTRACT

Values and principles are the building blocks of corporations, and having a sense of purpose is the key. These are the elements that hold people together, the glue that holds people's mindsets and keeps them working together well. This chapter expresses the culture within an organization by how an organization is structured, how they educate and train their employees, how they recruit talent, and how they hire. The only way to have a concise and meaningful overall process is for each of these individual processes to work together, based on a common theme and belief system. Culture can be divided into two components: values and performance. Kaizen is a tool that comes from a belief in the idea that everyone, every day, needs a sense of challenge, a sense of purpose about their job, and a connection to their customer.
