ABSTRACT

The aim of this book has been to investigate the politics of the digital age with a focus on the interplay between the changes in new information and communications technologies and governance. This has been achieved from two different but inter-related perspectives. First, in Part I of this book, the discussion was centred on what opportunities new information and communications technologies or, more broadly, the information society has brought with it for exploring new modes of governance. Second, in Part II of the book, the issue of who governs the process of the digital revolution was studied. The book, therefore, makes an up-to-date contribution towards the understanding about the impact of the digital revolution on governance on the one hand and the governance of the digital revolution on the other.
