ABSTRACT
This chapter attempts to analyse the concepts of underemployment and unemployment in the context of an underdeveloped, overpopulated country. It focuses attention on the agricultural sector, explains in, detail a number of attempts made to measure unemployment and underemployment in the rural areas of Pakistan, especially among the agricultural population, and examines the results obtained and problems encountered.
