ABSTRACT
This chapter draws on the solidarity effect by narrating just a few success stories of many. It starts by presenting Akhuwat as a prime example of its own success by virtue of its philosophy now taking root in Pakistani society. The chapter aims to display the same CARE functions through Akhuwat's many initiatives to uphold their societal significance in a Pakistani context and to demonstrate their need as such and why Akhuwat had to engage itself in these. Akhuwat, apart from granting loans, has an impressive portfolio of projects and initiatives for community welfare and societal betterment. The Akhuwat Clothes Bank was created to facilitate the transfer of household items such as clothes, shoes, and toys from the 'haves' to the 'have-nots'. The Akhuwat Clothes Bank is an extension of Akhuwat Financial Services and benefits from the same model and philosophy which is applied in the financial services.
