ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces a new assimilation of Hikma (wisdom) orientation borne out of Akhuwat's 4 I's: Iman, Ikhlas, Ihsan and Ikhuwah. It aims to establish a link between Akhuwat's 4 I's in a GENE-alogical order of its solidarity impulse. The chapter traverses through four stages of the spirit of solidarity: impulse, employ-ability, bond (silsilah) and effect. It illustrates attributes of Akhuwat's 4I GENE-alogy along with integral four realms of sanctuary, academy, laboratory and community, of a threefold integral genealogy. The chapter explores the 4 I's (or Alifs) of Akhuwat's genealogical order from an Islamic context, albeit Akhuwat being a non-religious and non-discriminatory organisation based on the humanistic values of Mawakhat (solidarity). It originates from Islamic philosophy and takes its inspiration from these fundamental (universal) Islamic tenets. The chapter postulates the idea of communities being organisms pulsating with an impulse for a communal renewal and survival.
