ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at and works with some effects of FCP, which offers a great variety of excellent effects, including great color correction tools. These effects rely heavily on the graphics card for processing. In addition to the effects included with the application, other programmers are creating effects to add to FCP. The chapter covers just the tip of the iceberg of some of the video and audio effects in FCP. It urges us to look through them and explore their capabilities for everyone. In addition to the Effects Browser content, the chapter also looks at working with Retiming and with Stabilization. One should have a fairly good idea of what you can do with the application and should be well on ones way to creating exciting, interesting, and original video productions. Stabilization is normally added to clips in the Timeline, though you can use the Open Clip function and apply it inside the clip container.
