ABSTRACT

This project has resulted in us:

Knowing when to stand back and observe;

Embedding the practice of following the child’s lead;

Becoming more skilled in making detailed observations of children;

Developing learning stories and reflective discussion;

Sharing documentation more with parents, teachers and children;

Doing daily planning for creative food activities;

Seeing food exploration as an intellectual and creative act and not based on end results;

Developing a new Early Years career path by training Early Years practitioners as Food Apprentices.
