ABSTRACT

What kind of people do organizations need? In Chapter 1 we examined conventional tools for assessing human performance and potential and their assumptions and limitations. We concluded that there was a need for additional tools, based on different assumptions about the nature of human intelligence. Exploration of your own intelligences through the PDBs and Personal Profiles probably provided additional evidence of a need for an expanded view of what intelligences make people successful at work. This view, which includes an appreciation of the diversity of intelligences that allow you and your workforce to adapt to the challenges of a constantly changing market, is eloquently expressed by Akio Morita, founder of Sony.
