ABSTRACT
I begin by examining the way in which Don Cupitt's non-realism (and subsequently postmodernism) emerged out of the modern liberal theology tha t previously engaged him.4 I shall show how this version of postmodern theology exphcates what is implicit in modern hberal theology, emerging organically out of it, ra ther than confrontationally reacting against it.
