ABSTRACT

The following conclusion refers to the interviews we had with trade unionists and management representatives from the four countries and at the European level as well as to the company case studies. Relevant literature has also been quoted. The conclusion is a mixture of the "classical" conclusion of a research study and a list of possible outcome of action that would be found in an "Executive Summary". The results are presented as theses that represent a selection of the major results of our study. They are no substitute for reading the report in detail, but they help to put the issues into perspective.
