ABSTRACT

All Danish citizens between 18 and 67 with permanent residence in Denmark are eligible for a disability pension if their employability is reduced partly or fully due to illness, impairment, social and/or other reasons. Furthermore, people between 50 and 67 are eligible for disability pension solely on account of social conditions, i.e. for this group there is no reduced employability requirement. Disability pensions can thus be awarded either due to reduced employability or for primarily social reasons. In consequence, different types of disability pension exist targeted at different groups of people: - highest disability pensions are awarded to persons between 18 and 60

years who are considered to be only minimally employable due to per140 manent physical or mental disablement;

years whose employability is reduced by at least 50% for health reasons.
