ABSTRACT
This paper examines the women's movement in Hong Kong in the context of the political transformation of the 1980s and 1990s. This period is significant in that it witnesses the unfolding of two related political processes, namely, decolonization and the transition of sovereignty to the People's Republic of China. These two processes have a great impact on the women's movement, as they do on other aspects of social development.
